Green IT and sustainability

Customers will still look in vain for fairly and sustainably produced hardware. Refurbished IT computers can serve as an alternative to new devices:

Most of our refurbished PCs originate from industrial leases and are tested and cleaned before they are sold on. The test includes a configuration analysis and systematic preparation of the refurbished hardware to support Green IT and an ecologically responsible recycling economy. This process is called upcycling.

  •     It reduces the production of waste,
  •     saves resources and
  •     saves energy as well.

Devices that cannot be sold are recycled according to WEEE DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU.

Disposal of batteries

Waste batteries may not be disposed of as domestic waste Consumers are obliged to bring the batteries to a suitable collection point at a dealer or within the municipality. They can also be returned to us free of charge when they are no longer used. Waste batteries might contain pollutants or heavy metals that can cause damage to health or the environment:

Pb: Battery contains lead

Cd: Battery contains cadmium

Hg: Battery contains mercury

Batteries contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel and are therefore recycled.  GRS Batterien handles the return obligations and the recycling for manufacturers and importers of batteries according to the Battery Act.
